Unstable. The app just crashed during adding patterns to the song whilst playback. first time crash though. From every other aspect the best synth suite available on the app store! Excellent!

Easy, great sounds and options, beautiful straightforward interface, im totally new to this stuff but read a lot of reviews (icegears Argon well regarded; got that first but no pattern sequencer like Xenon) and put a tune in my head down pretty quick. Minuses: i bought it as soon as it came out so paid more (still worth more than $10 to me) But crashed today so lots of nervous saves now. Free the West Memphis Three.

I first tried Argon which is a great sounding synth but thats about all it is. You can record with it and play overtop but there is no sequencer at all. Still for what it did I liked it and thought Id give Xenon a try. Overall Xenon is great. It provides a a few synths and rhythm which is all you need. The synths are great. The only things keeping this from perfection is the GUI which isnt completely intuitive and even after learning where to find everything I still get lost on occasion. The other minor issue is the sequencer portion which is perfectly fine but not quite as quick to operate as some of the other competing apps. Piano roll veterans will likely have no issues. Despite picking it apart slightly its well worth your money. I bought it right before it went on sale and I dont feel ripped off.

Sequencer is the most Amazing part of this app,-Even better on iPad!

When on synth and click sequencer app simply dies to iPad menu, not very cool.

The flexibility of the synths, the beautiful control layouts, and one of the best song designers Ive used makes for a great value. There are a ton of presets for the synths, that you can easily tweak to get just the sound you are looking for. I have Rebirth, which is a great bit of nostalgia, but this is easier to use at half the cost. Theres still room to grow, but it will be a while before I start running out of room.

Its a great app but it would be better if you didnt have to record in 1 bar segments. For example if you wanted to add a solo to your song, it would be great if you could play your song, hit record and play on top of it forbad long as you want. Also, a pitch bender would be cool :)

This is an awesome Scratchpad on the iPad! It has a very smooth UI and lots of flexibility in the synths. Needs a slightly better workflow, more tracks, naming tracks, automation, more flexible mixer, and a better manual. But the sounds that you can make with this thing are awesome! Just the default patches are phenomenal! Since you cant really do serious full production work on the iPad (yet), Xenon has taken a spot on my dock as a go to app for all the Scratchpad work. Looking forward to updates guys! Well done!

Ive had it for a few days now and its amazing. Beautiful design and look. The sounds are great. Ive been using Macs and Cubase for 18 years but this app on a little iPhone 4 is so much fun Im going to produce an entire CD ( Does anyone make CDs anymore?) using this and Argon. Just amazing what you can do with this and a midi keyboard. Portable studio on the go or use it to create ideas when you are not in front of your computer. Its nice to be able to work on song ideas out in the park or in the woods, or by the lake rather than being stuck inside the studio all day... this is a game changer!

I have open and closed the app many times only on one opening it has sound.. Whitout creating a new file. But creating A new file fixed the problem. The rest of the app is pretty cool.

Pls upgrade and charge more or come out with the next app. Tis is by far the best synth presentation sound practicality. My irk - pls allow for recording in song mode so multi 1 bar phrases can be recorded at a time. (solos) Simple upgrades? 1 audio track for mic in recording, doesnt have to be a sample editor, it can be one shot (although import of audiocopy loops would be dope) I am a true fan and have recommended this app in several blogs since it came out. You could charge 20$ if you had audio and effects as tight as you have done your synth section. Compressor on the master lpf and delay as well. Bitcrush or distortion on one track for bass.2rittim tracks would be nice. I want to see more done by your team as this app really sounds nice.

This is so awesome, and only 5 bucks! Normally great apps like this cost 15... All it needs is... Preview to the keyboards just like it does when selecting an instrument for the beat, and export to other programs! Ahh it would be perfect if I could export to music studio or nano studio :( please add this feature SOON. you guys are great though, the sounds are perfect and simple to figure out, and lots of help if you are lost. Keep up the good work (:

This is a rather well laid out little synth and sequencer. Features are easy enough to find, and it sounds decent enough. My main complaint is the lack of Tabletop or Audiobus integration. At this stage, if I hadnt already downloaded it months ago, I probably wouldnt bother. Why so slow on an update IceGear? You seem to ignore updates in favour of releasing new apps such as Cassini, another great synth which along with Argon is also still missing Audiobus...

Please add akai synthstation support with every update >:(

I like playing and mixing on this app. So many things you can do. The best part is you can download a copy of yur song when its finished. Hands down thee best!

Hands down the fastest and most useful sketchpad for pop music available. The simple combo of step sequencer, live keyboard entry to patterns (great with a click pattern going on drums) and the fantastic synths and useable default settings (even Init setting sounds great on the Hybrid synth) make this a joy to use. I keep experimenting with other apps like Yamaha mobile music sequencer and others and keep coming back to this one for its ease of use and fantastic sound. Thank you, icegear! Only thing missing for me is patch preview in the list of presets. Edit: Oh, and by the way this product rivals even Gadget! How? Ultra low latency. No waiting. You tap and sound is emitted right away. No lag.
